ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be admitted into the Hampton Roads Cosmetology Training Center, each applicant must:

• Must meet the state minimum age requirement 

• Have successfully completed high school or its equivalent as evidenced by any of the items on the following non-exhaustive list: copy of diploma, copy of state approved GED certificate, copy of a transcript showing high school completion, or a certificate of attainment.

• Applicants may provide evidence of completion of home schooling that state law treats as a home or private school 

  • HRCTC does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, age or ethnic origin.  All candidates with a foreign high school diploma, must provide evidence that verification of a foreign student’s high school diploma has been performed by an outside agency that is qualified to translate documents into English and confirm the academic equivalence to a U.S. high school diploma.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

• Schedule a personal interview with the school administrator: all applicants are interviewed and evaluated based on their motivation and academic ability.

• Complete application form: pay a non-refundable registration fee of $100.

• Submit all admissions documentation: driver’s license or birth certificate, proof of education, and social security card.

• Hampton Roads Cosmetology Training Center’s catalog reviewed before enrollment: each applicant for admission will be given a copy of the catalog.
